Gary met up with Ewan Mc Gregor and Charley at a dinner party in London prior to the Long Way Down trip. During the evening Ewan and Gary chatted about Unicef and their mutual commitment to charity work. Gary suggested that he make a special guitar design to commemorate Ewan and Charlie's Long Way Round charity ride through Africa.

Gary designed and donated the guitar and at a gala charity evening in London the guitar raised 27,000 Pounds for the Unicef charity.
