Miguel "Tito"Rodriguez, a Puerto Rican guitar player and violinist
started taking violin lessons at a very early age. However, it was the
moment in which he first put his hands on a guitar that changed the
course of his destiny.
With a bachelor's degree in music from the
Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, countless rehearsal hours and
a lot of dedication have made MTR the outstanding musician he is
today. He has shared the stage with major acts like Van Halen,
Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Incubus and the Scorpions. His talent has also
been recognized by some big names from the recording industry as one
of Puerto Rico's greatest guitar players.
Miguel was a member of a band
called Mattador and their recording "Save us from ourselves" was
acclaimed in some parts of Europe. Fifteen years ago he became the
guitar player for Sol D' menta. A solid rock band which in 2003
received an ASCAP award for best indie rock band of the year. In 2006
the album "Ciclos" was produced receiving great reviews
internationally. Also, by this time, MTR released his first CD as a
solo artist called "Plena en Jupiter" which allowed him to explore
other musical genres like Jazz, Flamenco, Blues and Salsa among others
that showcased his great talent for both the guitar and the violin.
Currently, MTR is producing music for local new artists and preparing
what will be his second production as a solo artist. Certainly his
rich cultural background, combined with his great talent and passion
will provide for a fusion of styles and sounds that will make this new
project a very special one.
