Gary met Chris at Gary Numan's house while he was rehearsing as the lead guitarist to back Gary Numan on a European tour. Chris, who at the time played a Les Paul, needed a different feel for some of his new songs and tried out a number of Hutchins semi-hollow guitars. He finally settled on the Regal, which he now plays in the studio and in all live performances.
